Why you need a professional to manage your WordPress website

Your website is critical to your your business

You have a website that is crucial to your business. It generates leads, customers and revenue (or at least it should). It’s a channel through which customers, suppliers, potential new staff and partners will find you and engage with you. It is fundamental to the success of your business and you want peace of mind that it will be up and available for your audience 24/7 without interruption.

All software is vulnerable

Software needs updating. All software. Including the software that powers your website. Your competitors are waking up (or maybe leading the way) and innovating with new websites and online strategies. The world is getting smaller as more of us connect to the web and that means that it is only going to get harder to keep up, let alone stay ahead of the pack. More and more websites are getting hacked and attacked, including the big players like Twitter and Facebook as well as millions of small businesses everyday. It’s the nature of the world we live in and unfortunately websites are an easy target.

Do it yourself?

Keeping your website up to date, backed up and secure can be time consuming and a little tedious. It takes you away from what you should be doing, which is building relationships with your customers, staff and partners. The technology continues to evolve and there is no way you can keep abreast of all the trends and developments.

Generic help

Yes there are plenty of options for you to keep your website managed and up to date by the same company that hosts it. They do it for thousands of customers every day. That means they are experienced. It also means they might not be paying attention to the finer details of your particular website and business needs.

WordPress Care Plan FAQs

Like a lawyer’s retainer, the monthly time is there for you every month to reserve your place in our queue and our resources, therefore it does not rollover for Maintain and Manage plans. You can take comfort in the fact that what you will request within that 30/60 minutes of time (depending on your plan) will be addressed by our team with immediate attention.
Our Web Master plans are customised to the client and allow for a time block for that month specific to their needs.

The whole purpose of our client plans is preventative care, so we hope to prevent anything from happening. However, in the case your website gets rolled into the ER, we will be there right by it’s side communicating with the web hosting on your behalf. We cannot promise your website will not be hacked but can promise we will do everything in our power to prevent it, as well as assist in the restoration and cleanup of the website with one of our backups.

Glad you asked! Content update requests and small design improvements are the most common requests, however anything that can fit into your monthly support time is free game. We just ask you to be aware that requests for new features to your website will likely result in a formal quote as those commonly go over the monthly dedicated time.

Email is our best form of communication since it yields the fastest response. However, we know brainstorming works best on the phone or on a video call. These consulting calls are reserved for our Web Manage and Web Master clients. They help focus a trajectory of the website for growth and improvements. Many times clients use this time to online screen-share small updates or training.

You know your business and customer base best. Therefore we rely on you to send us a variety of content for us to extract from. The content that you send us can be a link, latest news for your company, an article you found interesting, a YouTube video, or another blog post from other sites you want us to monitor. Once we pull out the posts, we will request your approval and schedule them out for the next 30 days.
(we will take care of providing stock images and SEO meta information)

If you have a task that requires more than your dedicated monthly time, we will submit a quote for you to approve separately from your plan However, many times we will evaluate requests that exceed your time on a case by case basis, and with approval, work past the time and bill for time exceeded at our current support rate of $150/hr.

Absolutely. We are all about a relationship with you and your website, so we would hate to see you go but we know financial needs weigh on many decisions and don’t want to lock anyone in. Request a cancellation via email to support@digitaljunction.com.au, and we will cancel the service within 30 days. This may cause an extra billing cycle to happen but we have services that require payment.

Although these plans are for sites we build or re-design, we welcome clients who are looking for a long term relationship with a dedicated webmaster.
We first like to do a Website Evaluation to become familiar with the website, how it was built and any potential issues that can arise. With the evaluation we will perform all the “Website Updates and Monitoring” tasks and make a full backup. Most importantly we will make a list of issues to fix and suggestions for improvement needed in order to proceed with the website on a monthly plan. Based on your type of website, this Website Evaluation is a fixed 4-hour fee.

Absolutely, we are very big fans of sharing the love. We offer ongoing affiliate commissions for the lifetime of the customer you referred to us, as long as you remain a client and you don’t breach our terms and conditions.

To help make it easier for you to know what to expect, we group requests into three types: Small Tasks, Big Tasks and Projects.

Small Tasks:

  • Small tasks are website content or code adjustments that take 30 minutes or less.
  • Timeframe: 1-3 business days.
  • Examples: editing website content, adding pre-written website content, changing the settings of a plugin, small design tweaks.
  • Does not include: writing content for you, designing something from scratch, adding in an e-commerce store.

Big Tasks:

  • Big tasks take more than 30 minutes, have multiple steps or require specialist skills (such as design, copywriting or code).
  • Timeframe: 1-2 weeks
  • Big task examples: creating a new web page, designing a promotional image, installing and configuring a WordPress or Shopify plugin, updating an existing Facebook ad, sending an email campaign, writing a blog post.

Projects:

  • Projects have a specific objective and require a strategy, plan and multiple steps.
  • All projects require a brief to be completed and agreed before we begin.
  • Timeframe: requires a conversation about the project so we can define the scope and provide a quote.
  • Project examples: developing an email nurture sequence, creating a Facebook campaign for products, adding in an e-commerce store, writing a series of blog posts, improving search engine traffic.

Not sure what you request is? No problem! Just send your request to us we’ll help guide you with the next steps 🙂
